Our Ennergizer Bunny

He just keeps going and going and going, despite the usual sleep

until midnight last night and Jeff worked until 2am. Obviously Jeff
and I are paying for some agregious act as children...

Leftovers

I was feeling creative last night after my haircut and made dinner:
pan seared pork chops with herbed compound butter, baked butternut
squash with balsalmic vinegar and parsnip purée. It was delicious (if
I do say so myself!), but Kai missed it since I made it after he went
to bed. Sadly, Kai just got the leftovers for dinner tonight. He liked
everything but the parsnips. Go fig...

Today is the official start of the Christmas holidays here in Casa
Gehring! To celebrate the season opener we went to Lowe's to get our
tree and beat the upcoming weekend rush. We won't get to decorate it
until this weekend when we're off again, but at least the house will
smell nice!

Game Time

Jeff and Kai enjoyed some male bonding time watching football after Thanksgiving dinner. Gotta start 'em young, I guess!

Turkey Day

After such an eventful day prior, we had a pretty low key Thanksgiving. My mother arrived Wednesday evening and we got a late start on the cooking since we were all tired. It was such a beautiful day outside, so we decided to have dinner on the deck. After he finished eating, Kai had fun exploring the deck, crawling under the table and watching Isla. A very nice Thanksgiving indeed!
