A Big Belly

When we went to pick Kai up at school the other day, I walked into the classroom and several kids ran over. Sagan tells me matter-o-factly, "You got a big belly."
I reply, "Yes, do you know what I have in there?"
Sagan: "Yeah, a baby. My Mom's gonna have a baby too." (not true per her mother)
Me: "Well this is Kai's little brother."
Several other kids start to clamor over, "Kai's gonna have a brother!"
Kai then appears with a huge grin on his face, "That's MY brother!" and pats my belly.
It was so sweet, I hope his enthusiasm continues!

Poppop the Great!

Just a few pictures of one of the greatest guys ever. We miss and love you Poppop. I will try to find more pictures and post them soon.

Love,
Jeff

Simple Salad

After a busy day today, we needed something quick and light for dinner. We made a Chicken and Proscuitto Salad with Arugula, Asparagus and Parmesan Cheese based off a recipe from the new Cooking Light magazine. It was delicious!

Big Bed

Jeff and I spent the weekend emptying out and switching Kai's and the guest bedroom. We plan to have the boys share a room once the Shabu is a little bigger. We moved the queen bed into Kai's old room and Jeff put together Kai's new twin bed in his new room. Kai insisted on helping! It's a Captain's bed with three big storage drawers underneath. Kai was so excited to sleep in his new bed! Once we get the rest of the room together and painted, I'll post more pics!

Big Seat

Kai is certainly growing up fast and outgrowing all his baby things. We just upgraded to a Big Boy Carseat, complete with cup holders. Wow! Somebody is really growing up ;)

St. Patty's Party

We went to a St. Patrick's Day 1st birthday party for Finn, the son of Dale and Shanan, who are part of our tailgating group. There was green beer, green wine, green snacks and green velvet cupcakes! While the adults chatted, Kai had fun with all the outdoor toys: sand table, cars, kids size grill. Fun for all!

Happy St. Patty's

While we were at the birthday party, Jeff's Mom, Mary Ann, was hard at work creating an Irish feast for dinner. We came home to a bacon wrapped pork tenderloin served with Irish colcannon. It was delicious! More kale for me please!
